This Sunday we start “Revolution Christmas” at People’s Church. We are going to have Trans-Siberian Orchestra music, a light show, a special choir, a 12-piece orchestra, a Nutcracker drum performance, snow and more.

The “marshmallow test”. This video is a great illustration on how hard it can be to resist instant gratification. Enjoy.

Take it slow. I hope you are able to take it slow this labor day. At my house this will be a day of chillin and grillin with friends. This video is a reminder that when we slow down you can see things you would normally miss. Plus slow motion just looks cool. Have a good one.

If you could travel through time and talk to the 17 year old version of yourself what would you say? Especially if you knew you might not live another 17 years? That is what this video is about.

As I watch this video I am reminded of Psalm 39:4-7

“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath. We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.”

Now go and make the most of your fleeting life. While you still have time.

Tomorrow is the launch of our Wednesday Connection. It is designed to help the adults, students and kids of People’s Church grow spiritually and relationally. We have been working really hard to make this kick off a success. Looking forward to it.

The Chair:

A look at the lives that have been changed and will be changed sitting in the chairs at People’s Church

Every story and statement is true, it wasn’t pre-scripted. Each person was told to say in a few words how they or a loved one had been impacted while sitting in the chairs at People’s Church, how they were praying for someone to be changed, or what the chair meant to them.
